Blackmoor Memories

Here's a link to a nice article about Dave Arneson and the Blackmoor campaign from the St. Paul Pioneer Press. What's particularly interesting about the article is that it includes information I'd never heard before, such as the fact that Dave Wesley of Braunstein fame played a time-and-space-lost version of himself as his first character in the campaign. It's well worth a read.

  2. After an age-old argument over who will lead the group, the man sitting next to Wesely loses. He has to lead.

Yep, that's our game all right. I can almost picture the argument. :)

  3. I saw that in the paper yesterday, nice big front-of-section article too.

James, you need to track down Peter "arguably the role-playing world's first wizard" Gaylord and get his thoughts on how role-playing magic users has changed since he first tried it out!

  4. Wesley - he don't need no stinking beard!;)

What a great article, very sad though about Arneson's last game.

Best grumpy old grognard quote. I'm only 39 buddy, but, I'm feeling ya.
