Speaking of OSRIC ...

Looks like the book is finally available in print through Lulu.com in a variety of formats: hardcover, paperback, economy, and full-color hardcover.

It's a shame how annoying Lulu has become to deal with if you live outside the United States, because I'd love to snag some copies of this book, but I'm afraid the cost of shipping simply makes it prohibitive.

  1. The hardback colour version is $96!
But there are other cheaper options.

  2. ...and shipping to the UK has returned to reasonable levels: £6 (@US$9) per hardback. This sure beats the £30+ it was a few months back!

  3. I've been waiting for those books to appear!

Now to decide whether to pay for one of them, or to eat this week . . .

About that version, Stewart "Papers & Paychecks" Marshall said something to the effect of "I don't expect anyone to buy it, but it's too cool not to offer."

  5. Why not make it $99.99 and collect those extra dollars? :)

Regardless, it's cool they're being offered.

  6. I couldn't think of anything that was being released this month, so I bought 4ed's PHB yesterday (mainly for my fiance.) Why couldn't I have waited one day?!

  8. I'm not sure I see the difference between the paperback and the economy...besides price that is.

    Can someone clue me in?

On a side note, James, I'm coming up in a few weeks and my cousins (many who live in TO) are meeting us. I could purchase a book for you here in the states, bring it up and hand it off if you like. We could talk "trade" for price, if you are willing. ;-)

Drop me an email and maybe we can work something out.

  10. ordered 4 of the economy and one of the standard paperback and have all in my possession.

The 15 buck version has a sharper, more vibrant cover. It also appears to have a thicker glue strip running down the binding. Shadowing of the reverse side of the pages' ink is slightly more noticeable in the 10 dollar version.

The 10 dollar books are gifts to my old gaming group, the 15 dollar version is for me. They all look like quality tho I expect the 10 books won't hold up over weekly use over a prolonged period. Then again, 10 bucks for a book over 380 pages it almost becomes disposable and easily replaced. ;)
